Made at The Royals Melbourne for Deakin University
We created an award winning experience that allowed 17 year old students to blow off some steam in the most epic way possible: smashing and wrecking stuff, all without moving from their study chair.
We live streamed the Break Room for 5 days, and our Break Team – Ghost, Hot Dog, Robot & Sloth – were standing by to carry out student’s stress-relief requests from Twitter and the website. We broadcasted live over the internet with two Aussie sports-commentators narrating the action with hilarious SFX and a real-time social media dialogue.
The project exceeded all expectations and we had numerous wins:
- Made the front page of Reddit
- 114K Site Visits (objective: 27,000)
- 6,500 Stress Break Requests (objective: 4,000)
- We’re currently chatting to a Finnish comedian who wants to make a TV show based on the concept
- We just won two Spikes Asia awards: a Silver in the entertainment category and a Bronze in the digital category
I was the Producer on the project and managed everything from film production, website build, live stream, social campaign, daily highlight video reels, on demand video production, unconventional media approaches, street poster production and more.
